The following scenarios can cause
Control Manager to delete managed
products from the Product Directory:
-
Reinstalling the Control Manager server
and selecting Delete existing records and create a new
database
This option creates a new database using
the name of the existing one.
-
Replacing the corrupted Control Manager database
with another database of the same name
-
Accidentally deleting the managed product from Directory
Management
If the records for a Control Manager server’s
managed products are lost, TMI agents on the products still "know"
where they are registered. The Control Manager agent
automatically re-registers itself after 8 hours or when the service
restarts.
MCP agents do not re-register automatically. Administrators must
manually re-register managed products using MCP agents.
