Before you can begin to set billing periods, monitor spam stats, or receive notifications in ConnectWise Manage for Trend Micro Remote Manager customers, you must first identify and connect the ConnectWise Manage clients with corresponding Trend Micro Remote Manager customers.

Procedure

  1. Use the ConnectWise Manage console to obtain the API keys required for communication between ConnectWise Manage and Trend Micro Remote Manager.
    1. Open the ConnectWise Manage console.
    2. Go to SystemMembers.
    3. Click the Member ID that is responsible for the API keys.
    4. Click the API Keys tab.
    5. Click New Item (new-item.png).
    6. Type a Description for the API keys.
    7. Click Save.

      ConnectWise Manage assigns a Public Key and Private Key for the new entry. The Private Key only displays once. Copy the Private Key carefully. If you lose the key, you cannot recover the Private Key again and must create a new entry and reconfigure the Remote Manager server.
  2. Configure the global ConnectWise Manage integration settings on the Trend Micro Remote Manager console.
    1. Open the Trend Micro Remote Manager console.
    2. Go to AdministrationConfigure third-party integration.
      The Configure third-party integration screen appears.
    3. In the ConnectWise Manage section, select Enable integration to allow ConnectWise Manage to receive notifications from Trend Micro Remote Manager.
      • ConnectWise Manage URL: Type the ConnectWise Manage URL or FQDN.

        By default, Trend Micro Remote Manager automatically uses HTTPS communication with the ConnectWise Manage server. If your company requires HTTP communication, you must specify the URL, not the FQDN.
      • Company ID: Type the company name you use to log onto the ConnectWise Manage console.
      • Public key: Specify the ConnectWise Manage public key that Trend Micro Remote Manager uses to encrypt communication to ConnectWise Manage
      • Private key: Specify the ConnectWise Manage private key used to decrypt communication from Trend Micro Remote Manager
    4. Click Test Connection to verify the connection with ConnectWise Manage.

      If you do not click Test Connection, Trend Micro Remote Manager automatically verifies the connection with ConnectWise Manage when you click the Save button.
    5. Click Save.
  3. Identify and associate individual Trend Micro Remote Manager customers with ConnectWise Manage clients on the Trend Micro Remote Manager console.
    1. Open the Trend Micro Remote Manager console.
    2. Go to Customers[customer].
    3. To integrate the ConnectWise Manage settings for this customer, click the ConnectWise Manage tab.
    4. Select Enable integration.
    5. Specify the ConnectWise Company ID for the customer.
      Access the ConnectWise Manage console to locate a specific customer's Company ID.

      Click Verify to ensure that the company ID exists in ConnectWise Manage.
    6. Click Save.
    7. Repeat for each ConnectWise Manage client.
