The ScanMail Quarantine database (
smquar.nsf) stores copies of messages quarantined for content, malware, or spam violations.Depending on the volume of traffic a server handles and the amount of malware ScanMail
encounters, the Quarantine database may grow quite large. If malware is detected,
ScanMail will quarantine infected emails and attachments, which are stored as a new
document in the
smquar.nsf database.
Configure ScanMail to delete quarantineditems every "x" days automatically (see Deleting Quarantined Items Automatically). Alternatively, you can manually delete quarantined items from the Quarantine database
(see Deleting Quarantined Items Manually).
