There are several pre-installation tasks that can help to make the installation process easier. Additionally, note the following points before installing SMD version 5.8 SP1:
  • You cannot automatically roll back to SMD 5.8 after installing version 5.8 SP1.
    To roll back to SMD 5.8, remove SMD 5.8 SP1, and then perform a fresh installation of SMD 5.8. Refer to the SMD 5.8 documentation for details on how to install this version. Rolling Back to SMD 5.8 for more information.
  • You cannot install SMD 5.0/5.5, SMD 5.6, SMD 5.6 SP1, SMD 5.8, and SMD 5.8 SP1 on the same physical machine. (Windows only)
  • You must shut down the Domino server before installing or removing SMD.
  • For partitioned servers, install only one version of SMD for all partitions. However, you can install separate binaries for each partition.
