SecureCloud on Amazon AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) Parent topic

SecureCloud now supports devices with permissions set through Amazon AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM).
To provision an IAM-enabled storage device:
SecureCloud links to the Amazon AWS Meta-data Server to verify whether an instance is IAM-enabled. If so, the Configuration Tool obtains the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key in the background, and then proceeds to the next provisioning process (that is, get account ID, SecureCloud console URL, and provisioning passphrase). You no longer have to manually specify the required Amazon credentials—which you are used to doing when provisioning devices hosted by instances running in Amazon EC2.
The following table describes the differences between configuring an Amazon AWS EC2 and AWS IAM device.
