Description
Key Management Server /KMS SecureCloud SaaS server / SecureCloud Management Server / SecureCloud Server
The Trend Micro hosted server that provides SecureCloud functionalities—key approval, log collection, account management, localization settings, and reporting.
SecureCloud agent / Runtime Agent
The program installed on the system hosting the encrypted storage device. The SecureCloud agent is responsible for device provisioning and encryption.
SecureCloud
Refers to the SecureCloud Key Management Server.
image / machine image (AMI)
The operating and root file systems, including architecture (32- or 64-bit) used to initialize or create an instance.
instance
A running virtual machine in the cloud service provider environment. It originated from an image and is capable of running an operating system and its processes. Unlike a static image, an instance is dynamic, which you can interact.
Integrity Check Module (ICM)
A module running inside the Runtime Agent that checks the integrity of security products within an instance.
Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)
When this feature is enabled, SecureCloud account owners are required to go through a two-step verification process:
  1. Provide the account name and password
  2. Provide the authentication code
authentication code
The code generated by Google Authenticator, which SecureCloud requires when logging on to the web console (MFA method).
MFA backup code / backup code
Code used to log on to the SecureCloud web console when an authentication code (or your registered mobile phone) is unavailable.
activation code
Code used to activate the SecureCloud product license.
passphrase
Sequence of text, which an account owner uses during device provisioning to gain access to the SecureCloud server.
storage / storage device
Any supported volume, partition, or drive that is target for SecureCloud encryption.
swap partition / swap partition space
A space on physical disk used for swapping. You need to find empty partition or repartition a disk to add additional swap partition space.
ephemeral disk storage / ephemeral storage / instance store volume / instance store
In Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) or Amazon Elastic Block Storage (EBS), a space that exists only as long as the instance it is associated with.
