Learn how XDR for Cloud credits are calculated using a new, simplified credits model.

Starting January 6, 2025, XDR for Cloud requires monthly credits. This applies to the following features:
  • Cloud Detections for AWS CloudTrail
  • Cloud Detections for Amazon Security Lake
  • Cloud Detections for AWS VPC Flow Logs
  • Cloud Detections for Azure VNet Flow Logs
  • Cloud Detections for Azure Activity Logs

How do I enable XDR for Cloud?

You can enable XDR for Cloud in two ways:
  • Start a free trial: Experience XDR for Cloud with a 30-day free trial. For more information, see Start a free trial of XDR for Cloud.
  • Start paid usage: Enable one or more XDR for Cloud features on a new or existing cloud account. When you enable a feature, you will be prompted to confirm that you want to activate paid usage.

How many credits do I need to use XDR for Cloud?

Each month Trend Vision One draws down credits for the previous month's usage. XDR for Cloud requires 3 credits per 1 GB of data uploaded from any of the following XDR for Cloud features:
  • Cloud Detections for AWS CloudTrail
  • Cloud Detections for Amazon Security Lake
  • Cloud Detections for AWS VPC Flow Logs
  • Cloud Detections for Azure VNet Flow Logs
  • Cloud Detections for Azure Activity Logs

Can I connect and monitor cloud accounts without using XDR for Cloud?

Yes. You can connect and monitor your cloud accounts in the Cloud Accounts app without consuming XDR for Cloud credits.
When you connect an account, Core Features must be enabled. This feature is required for Trend Vision One to discover your cloud assets. Core Features cannot be disabled and do not require credits.
XDR for Cloud is only activated if you enable one or more XDR for Cloud features on a cloud account.

How and when does Trend Vision One draw down credits?

Trend Vision One deducts credits monthly based on usage. It deducts usage for the current month on the first day of the next month.

How do I check credit usage?

In Cloud Accounts, click Manage usage to open the credits drawer. On the Usage details tab, view the credit usage for each XDR for Cloud feature.
To view the latest estimated total credit drawdown for the current month, go to Platform Usage and CreditsCredits overviewCredit usage overview.
To view raw credit usage values, download the usage report for each solution, or go to Platform Usage and CreditsUsage managementUsage details and click Download report.

What happens if I run out of credits?

If your credit balance becomes negative, your usage of XDR for Cloud continues uninterrupted, but you will see a negative balance in AdministrationPlatform Usage and CreditsCredits overview. You must purchase additional credits to continue using XDR for Cloud.

How do I stop credit drawdown for XDR for Cloud?

After you disabled all XDR for Cloud features on your cloud accounts, Trend Vision One makes a final draw-down for XDR for Cloud on the first day of the month. Thereafter, Trend Vision One no longer draws down credits for XDR for Cloud.
To disable XDR for Cloud:
  1. In Cloud Accounts, click Manage usage to open the XDR for Cloud credit drawer.
  2. On the Features tab, turn off XDR for Cloud.
