June 3, 2024 — The Virtual Network Sensor now supports automatically submitting file objects to a virtual sandbox for analysis as a pre-release sub-feature.

The "send to sandbox" feature can be enabled from the Network Inventory screen, with the analysis report available to view in the Sandbox Analysis app. File objects submitted by the Virtual Network Sensor to the sandbox using this feature do not require credits to use during the pre-release period.

May 31, 2024 — Customers can select which connected TippingPoint SMS to display for policy recommendations and configuration. Intrusion Prevention Configuration is supported on all connected SMS appliances. Information and policy tuning options for the SMS you select is displayed on the Policy Recommendations page.

May 13, 2024—Connecting to Network Security allows Deep Discovery Inspector version 6.7 SP1 and later to synchronization the Suspicious Object List directly with Trend Vision One. The Suspicious Object List Synchronization service is no longer required to be enabled on your Service Gateway when connecting as a proxy or using the Service Gateway as a service source.

May 6, 2024 — The Monitoring/Scanning and Network Resources screen are now accessible from the navigation pane. Go to Network Security → Network Analysis Configuration and choose Monitoring / Scanning or Network Resources.

May 6, 2024 — Network Sensor for TippingPoint is now available for pre-release preview. The feature can be enabled on supported TippingPoint TXE-series appliances in Network Inventory.

Network Sensor for TippingPoint TXE-series appliances combines network intrusion detection prevention capabilities with in-depth visibility for unknown and targeted attacks even into encrypted network traffic. Combined with Trend Vision One detection and response capabilities, Network Sensor for TippingPoint helps create a complete network intrusion prevention solution.

February 19, 2024 — Virtual Network Sensor supports deploying to Microsoft Azure cloud environments.

February 19, 2024 — Network Inventory now supports managing user role visibilty of connected Deep Discovery Inspector and Virtual Network Sensor devices with the Asset Visibility Management app. You can now manage the visibility of users within your organization to view your connected network security devices based on individual devices or groups created in Network Inventory.

February 19, 2024 — Network Inventory now supports the ability to create groups for your connected Deep Discovery Inspector appliances and Virtual Network Sensors, as well as filter devices displayed using a tree view quick filter.

January 8, 2024 — Virtual Network Sensor supports deploying to AWS cloud environments. Additionally, you can now specify a default password for KVM deployments within Network Inventory.

December 18, 2023 — Network Inventory now supports the following central management features for Deep Discovery Inspector version 6.7 and later.

October 30, 2023 — Users may now create and configure lists of detection exceptions, preventing network traffic detections that match specified criteria from appearing in detection logs. To use the feature, go to Network Inventory → Monitoring/Scanning → Detection Exceptions.

Additionally, users can now view detailed information about each connected Virtual Network Sensor appliance, including system information and system settings, from the list of Virtual Network Sensors in Network Inventory.

September 28, 2023 — Network Inventory and Network Analytics reports now offer Japanese language support.

September 28, 2023 — The Virtual Network Sensor now supports deployment on Hyper-V host systems.

September 28, 2023 — The Virtual Network Sensor is no longer a pre-release feature and now enters official release. Virtual Network Sensor comes with a 30-day free trial to allow users to evaluate the functionality and benefits. Once the trial period end, credits are automatically allocated based on usage.

September 25, 2023 — The Virtual Network Sensor now supports hypersensitive mode. The detection mode is available after enabling it in Support Settings. For more information, see Sensor Details.

August 28, 2023 — Virtual Network Sensor (formerly called Network Inspector virtual appliance) is now officially launched. Users can download the Virtual Network Sensor image from Network Inventory to deploy the sensor in their environment. Currently, Virtual Network Sensor supports VMware ESXi version 6.5 and above, VMware vCenter, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 with KVM.

June 5, 2023 — Virtual Network Sensor is the new network sensor solution available for Trend Vision One. Virtual Network Sensor is a virtual appliance that provides Trend Vision One with network activity data, enabling you to review detailed network activity. The network data can also help discover unmanaged and unknown network assets, allowing for a more holistic view of your attack surface for network detection, response, analysis, and visibility.

Plans allow you to deploy important upgrades such as firmware, patches, or hotfixes; as well as replicate settings from one appliance to another. You can also deploy prepared images to appliances configured to use Virtual Analyzer.
