After you grant Cloud Email and Collaboration Protection acces sto Microsoft Teams (Chat) with your own app, you can change the Microsoft licensing model for the service based on your requirements.

If you have granted access to Teams Chat in the old way without creating your own app in Microsoft Entra ID, the licensing model settings are not available.

Procedure

  1. In Cloud Email and Collaboration Protection, go to Policies → Global Settings → Other Settings → Microsoft Licensing Model Settings for Teams Chat.
  2. Select an organization in the upper right corner.
  3. (Optional) Click Update Secret or Change App to replace the secret for the current app or use another app.
    The procedure is the same as the access grant process. For details, see Granting Access to Teams Chat.
  4. Change the licensing model.
  5. Click Save.
