Deploy agents with only Endpoint Sensor features

Download the installer package and install the TrendAI Vision One™ Endpoint Security agent with only Endpoint Sensor features.

Important

Your TrendAI Vision One™ account must have permission to download the agent package to complete this task. If you are unable to view or download the installer, contact your administrator for assistance.

The steps in this topic cover how to configure the installer package to deploy the TrendAI Vision One™ Endpoint Security agent with XDR for Endpoints (EDR) features without any endpoint protection features. This involves configuring and downloading a package containing the installer which you can install on individual computers.

The installation process typically takes about five minutes to complete. Certain variables can affect the duration of the task, such as the specific OS version and distribution, package configuration, network connectivity, and endpoint hardware configuration.

Deployment typically does not require you to restart the endpoint to complete installation. Restarting the endpoint after installation can help with verifying system stability, but is not required.

After installing on an endpoint, the agent automatically connects to TrendAI Vision One™ and applies any assigned policy settings.

Procedure

Go to Endpoint Security → Endpoint Inventory.
Click Agent Installer.
Under Endpoint Sensor, select your Operating system.
- Windows
- macOS
- Linux
For Linux operating systems, specify the package type.
- Auto detect: The installation package is light-weight, and downloads and installs additional components after detecting the operating system type (requires more network bandwidth)
- Full package: The installation package contains all necessary components and automatically installs the correct components after detecting the operating system version
For Windows and Linux operating systems, select the OS architecture.
- For Windows, select 64-bit (x86-64), 32-bit (x86), or ARM64 (AArch64).
- For Linux, select 64-bit (x86-64) or ARM64 (AArch64).

Select the Agent installer proxy.

Important

Verify that the proxy is available and the endpoint can connect. If the proxy is unavailable or the endpoint cannot establish a connection, the installer package will fail to download necessary components from TrendAI Vision One™.

To use a Service Gateway as a proxy, the deployed Service Gateway must have the Forward Proxy Service enabled. For more information, see Manage services in Service Gateway.

You can choose from one of the following options:

Select Use Agent Installer Proxy Settings to follow the settings configured in your Agent Installer Proxy Settings.
Select a deployed Service Gateway to force the installer to only use that Service Gateway.
Select Use the custom proxy specified in Agent Installer Proxy Settings to use only the custom proxy you specified in Agent Installer Proxy Settings.
Select System proxy to use the proxy settings defined in the system settings of the endpoint.
Select Direct connect to allow the installer to connect directly to TrendAI Vision One™.

Click the Download installer icon ().
Unpack the installation package on the target endpoint.

Important

Do not rename, alter, or move any files or folders in the installation package.
Run the installation package on your target endpoints.
- For Windows endpoints, run EndpointBasecamp.exe to install the agent.
- For macOS endpoints, double-click endpoint_basecamp.pkg to install the agent.
- For Linux endpoints, open terminal and run the command # ./tmxbc install to install the agent.
Note

For macOS endpoints, you must provide administrator credentials to complete the installation.
The installation package installs the TrendAI Vision One™ Endpoint Security agent with Endpoint Sensor features.
