Understand how Trend Vision One calculates the number of credits to draw down from your balance based on your monthly solution usage.

Starting in January 2026, Trend Vision One transitioned to a monthly credit drawdown model. Every month, your usage of individual paid solutions contributes to your total credit drawdown for the month, which Trend Vision One deducts from your credit balance on the first of the following month.
This consumption-based approach is designed for predictability and scale, assisting with forecasting, budgeting, and margin planning. The model lowers the risk of overpaying for short-term spikes such as incident response or onboarding, reflecting the Trend Micro commitment to fair and transparent pricing.

Your usage and credit information updates daily at 5:00 (UTC).
To view the latest usage information, Trend Micro recommends going directly to the relevant solution in the Trend Vision One console.
For individual solutions, there are two ways that Trend Vision One calculates credit usage, depending on the solution type:
  • Snapshot-based calculation: Once in active usage, solutions of this type capture daily snapshots of how many units of the solution you are using. Your credit drawdown corresponds to the snapshot with the highest usage within the 85th percentile of snapshots (excluding the top 15% of outliers) from the active usage days that month. To determine the 85th percentile snapshot, Trend Vision One sorts your daily usage from lowest to highest, regardless of date. For this reason, your estimated credit drawdown for snapshot-based solutions might change throughout the month.

Trend Vision One calculates your highest usage snapshot for the month and 15% of outliers based on active usage days only. In other words, if you activate a solution mid-month, the 15% exclusion applies only to the days remaining in that month.
Trend Micro recommends activating a new solution earlier in the month to provide a larger data set for filtering out temporary usage peaks.
For example, consider a solution that you have been actively using from April 1 to 20. To calculate your estimated credit drawdown for the given solution on April 20, Trend Vision One excludes the three days (15% of the 20 active usage days) with the highest usage snapshots as outliers. Of the remaining 17 days, the day with the highest usage determines your estimated credit drawdown so far for April. For the rest of the month, Trend Vision One recalculates the estimated credit drawdown as necessary, then deducts the final credit drawdown for April from your balance on May 1.
  • Volume-based calculation: Solutions of this type calculate credit usage based on your cumulative solution usage throughout the month. Your final credit drawdown for the month is the sum of each day's usage that month. As a result, your estimated credit drawdown for volume-based solutions updates every day of the month as usage accumulates.
For example, your final credit drawdown for a volume-based solution in the month of April corresponds to the sum of your daily usage from April 1 through April 30. This total usage, multiplied by the credit requirement of the given solution, results in your credit drawdown for the month.

Whether a solution calculates your credit drawdown based on a snapshot or accumulated volume, the usage data displayed in Platform Usage and Credits and in credit usage drawers in relevant apps might not reflect your real-time asset count or usage:
  • For snapshot-based calculations, the latest drawdown calculation date changes throughout the month, so your current actual asset count might differ from the snapshot used for the month's calculation.
For example, if your highest usage (after outlier removal) occurred on April 20, your April credit drawdown depends on that day's asset count, even if your actual asset count is different by April 30.
  • For volume-based calculations, because usage information updates once daily, your latest estimated drawdown might temporarily reflect the previous day's data, and differ from your real-time usage.
