When you add or edit a report template from the Reports screen, a new screen opens, where you can specify the settings for the template.

Procedure

  1. Configure the Report Information section:
    Item

    Report name
    Specify a name for the report template.
    Description
    (Optional) Meaningful description to easily identify the report template.
    Enable
    Click On or Off to enable or disable the report template.
    If you no longer need a template, delete it, instead of setting Enable to Off.
  2. Configure the Report Settings section:

    Generation schedule
    Select how often a report is generated. Options include:
    • On-demand: Report generation does not follow a schedule. To generate an on-demand report, click Run under Generation Schedule corresponding to this template on the Reports screen.
    • Once: Specify the date and time to generate a report.
    • Daily: Specify the following:
      • Time to generate the report
      • Date to generate the first report
      • Whether the report stops generating after a certain number of occurrences or never
    • Weekly: Specify the following:
      • Day of the week and time to generate the report
      • Date to generate the first report
      • Whether the report stops generating after a certain number of occurrences or never
    • Monthly: Specify the following:
      • Date and time to generate the report
      • Date to generate the first report
      • Whether the report stops generating after a certain number of occurrences or never
    Time period
    Specify the time range for the report template. You can select a time period or customize the time range from the drop-down list.

    Keep latest reports
    Select how many of the latest saved reports will be kept.
  3. Configure the Report Notification section:

    Click On or Off to enable or disable report notification.
    Mail recipients
    Type the email addresses of recipients who will receive an email with a link to the generated report. It applies only when you enable Report Notification.
    Attachment
    (Optional) Select Attach the report as a PDF file to include the report as an attachment. It applies only when you enable Report Notification.
  4. In the Gateways section, select the gateways whose data you want to include in the report template. You can select all gateways, specific ones from the list of gateways configured on the Gateways screen, or roaming users as necessary.
  5. In the Users section, select the users or groups whose data you want to include in the report template. You can select all or specific ones from the list of users, groups, or departments as necessary.
  6. In the Report Types section, select from the available report types and configure the following:

    Top X
    For each item under Internet Access and Policy Enforcement reports, type a value (maximum 50) corresponding to the top data for each template.

    Top X is not available for Customized Reports.
    Customized Reports use the same settings defined for log favorites, which are available on the Log Favorites screen. For details, see Log Favorites.
    Chart type
    Click the icon on the right side of each report item for the chart type according to your preference.
  7. Click Save.
