Licensing Management Platform allows you to migrate licenses to a different service plan that may contain some of the same products. When the following scenarios occur, Licensing Management Platform will help you walk through the process of transferring licenses.
  • You assign a new service plan to customers, and the current service plans associated with the customers contain duplicate licenses.
  • An existing service plan has a suite with composition changes that result in duplicate licenses in the service plan.
During the process, you can review the changes and take actions on duplicate product licenses. Depending on the type of license, Licensing Management Platform may automatically perform a license transfer or let you decide how to resolve the license conflict. When resolving the license conflict, you can modify the license end date.
After you resolve the conflict, the license start date will be effective immediately. If the service plan only contains software licenses and users decide to obtain new licenses for all software during the process, then you can specify the license start date.
