A management information base (MIB) is a type of database that is used
to manage devices in a communications network. Database entries are addressed
through object identifiers (OIDs). MIB files are descriptions of network
objects that can be managed using the Simple Network Management Protocol
(SNMP). The format of the MIB is defined as part of the SNMP.
