  • Multiple ScanMail servers can share the same configurations by using Trend Micro Apex Central (or Trend Micro Control Manager (TMCM)).
  • Apex Central permits administrators to configure and deploy Data Loss Prevention policies (rules) directly to ScanMail servers from the Apex Central web console.
  • Administrators can also use Apex Central to synchronize virus pattern file and other downloads (Apex Central contacts Trend Micro through the Internet; Apex Central then distributes the updates to the various instances of ScanMail through the Intranet).
  • Unless included as part of an Apex Central domain, each instance of ScanMail on the network updates its own virus pattern file and other updates.
