Administrators with a properly-formatted .dat file containing the file attributes can use this option. Generate the file by exporting the file attributes from either the ScanMail server on the current server or from another ScanMail server.

Procedure

  1. On the left navigation bar, click Data Loss PreventionData Identifiers.
    A list of data identifiers appears.
  2. Click the File Attributes tab.
  3. Click Import and then locate the .dat file containing the file attributes.
  4. Click Open.
    A message appears, indicating the status of the import.

    Each file attribute contains a unique ID value. If a file attribute with the same ID already exists, ScanMail overwrites the existing file attribute. If a file attribute with the same display name already exists, ScanMail appends the suffix “Original” to the preexisting file attribute and adds the new file attribute to the list.
