File Encryption Authentication

This section explains how to authenticate to and use File Encryption. All authentication methods for Endpoint Encryption are available in File Encryption.

Endpoint Encryption administrators and users have several authentication methods to log on to File Encryption. The methods available are determined by the PolicyServer policy configuration.

Supported Authentication Methods

Authentication Method	Description
ColorCode™	A unique sequence of colors. See ColorCode.
Domain authentication	Active Directory LDAP synchronization for single sign-on (SSO). See Domain Authentication.
Fixed password	A string of characters, numbers, and symbols. See Fixed Password.
Smart card	A physical card used in conjunction with a PIN or fixed password. See Smart Card.
PIN	A standard Personal Identification Number (PIN). See PIN.
