Use the Device Settings screen to configure the management IP
address settings.

Procedure
- Log on to the Preconfiguration Console.
- To select Device Settings, type 2
and press ENTER.
Note
To enter data when using a serial communication application (for example, HyperTerminal), disable the scroll lock function on your keyboard.The Device Settings screen appears. - In the Type field, use the space bar to select one of
the following properties:

dynamic
-
static
-
- Configure the following IPv4 address settings:
- In the IP address field, type an IPv4
address.Type a Subnet mask.
- Type a Gateway IP address.
- Type a Primary and Secondary DNS server IP address.
- In the IP address field, type an IPv4
address.
- (Optional) Configure the following IPv6 address settings:
- In the Enable field, select yes.
- In the IP address field, type an IPv6
address.Type a Subnet prefix.
- Type a Gateway IP address.
- Type a DNS server IP address.
- (Optional) Type a VLAN ID.
Note
The VLAN ID is used when a trunk connection is required between the Deep Discovery Inspector management port and a switch. The VLAN ID is used as a VLAN tag in 802.1Q Ethernet frame. - Go to Return to main menu and press ENTER.
- To save the settings, type 6 and press ENTER.
