You should be aware of IPv4 and IPv6
support for each deployment mode when configuring policy rules.
Source Users and User Groups
A policy based on selected users or user groups will not work for IPv6 traffic, even for Bridge Mode or Software Switch configurations.
Source and Destination IP Addresses/FQDNs
Bridge Mode or Software SwitchCloud Edge supports IPv6 if the gateway is running in Bridge Mode or as a Software Switch deployment.
- You can add both IPv4 and IPv6 address objects when configuring policies.
- FQDNs entries can resolve to either IPv4 or IPv6 addresses.
Cloud Edge does not support IPv6 if the gateway is running in Routing Mode.
-
You can add only IPv4 address objects when configuring policies.
-
FQDNs entries must resolve to IPv4 addresses.
Source MAC Addresses
You can hover over a MAC address to verify which IPv4 is assigned to the MAC address. If the Cloud Edge gateway is running in Bridge Mode or as a Software Switch, you can additionally see any IPv6 addresses that are assigned to a MAC address.
