Apex One provides enhanced security for communication between the server and Security Agents using the following:
  • Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256 encrypted communication to meet governmental compliance standards

    Trend Micro Apex One only supports AES-256 encryption on servers and Security Agents running Apex One and Plug-in Manager 2.2 or later versions.
  • Client Authentication Checksum (CAC) security to authenticate Security Agents

  • Before enabling the AES-256 encryption or Client Authentication Checksum (CAC) security , verify that all managed Security Agents reporting to the Apex One server are running supported versions (build version 12000 or later).
  • Enabling AES-256 encryption for older unsupported Security Agent versions may result in a complete loss of communication with the Apex One server when using a proxy server.

Procedure

  1. Go to AgentsGlobal Agent Settings.
  2. Click the Network tab.
  3. Go to the Server-Agent Communication section.
  4. Click Change to enable or disable the setting.
    A message appears.
  5. Click Verify Versions to confirm that you have updated all Security Agents to the supported versions (build version 12000 or later).
  6. Click OK.
