Configuring a Schedule for Scheduled Scan

When enabled, Scheduled Scan checks for malware at the time the user specifies.

To configure a Scheduled Scan:

Step 1

Access the Scheduled Scan settings screen using one of the following options:

From the Trend Micro™ Security (for Macintosh) product console, click Malware Protection > Settings > Scheduled Scan.

From the Trend Micro Security (for Macintosh) Standalone application menu, click Preferences > Scan > Scheduled Scan.

Step 2

Select Enable Scheduled Scan

Step 3

CPU Usage this setting requires the user to choose between improved scan performance or improved computer performance.

High:  with this setting, scan performance is more important than computer performance.

Low:  with this setting, computer performance is more important than scan performance.

Step 4

[Optional] Select Scan compressed files.

Step 5

Specify what Security (for Macintosh) should scan by selecting one of the following scan target options:

Recommended files: scans all files recommended by Trend Micro.

All files on your computer: scans all files on your computer except for encrypted and password protected files.

Only the files that you select > Choose Files: select the files, folders, and drives that Security (for Macintosh) should scan.

Step 6

Specify a Schedule: select daily, weekly, or monthly scan periods.

Step 7

Specify an Action: select actions recommended by Trend Micro or specify your own actions for files that contain malware.

NOTE: Review the scan results immediately after completing a scan.
