Custom Installation > Web Server Role Configuration Parent topic

The web server role supports the SecureCloud Key Management Server web console.
This step entails completing the following screens:

Procedure

  1. Supply the necessary information for the Website Configuration screen—for Key Management Server Web Console (a.k.a. SecureCloud Management Console, SCMC) settings.

    • Host header—if empty, setup uses the computer name.
    • IP address—specify the listening IP address and connection port.
    • Use HTTPS—to secure traffic between the Management Server, Web service
    Provide the SSL certificate file path and passphrase.
    Ensure that the SSL certificate is issued to this host.
  2. Supply the necessary information for Web Service Configuration—for web service settings.

  3. Type a Windows account (local or domain user) to run SecureCloud services. If you created new user, the information you specify here is for that user.

  4. Specify the database connection information.

    The database configuration screen is the same as the one provided in typical installation.
    • Database name—SecureCloud database name.
    • SQL Server name—SQL Server name or IP address and instance name.
    • Failover Partner—mirroring SQL Server
      You can skip this field if there is no mirror database available.
    • SQL Server user name and password—use to access the SQL server and SecureCloud database
    • Database encryption backup key
      Supply the location and filename of the backup key, along with its passphrase.
      • Initialize key encryption for DB and backup key to file—for fresh install
      • Use an existing key encryption for DB from file—for installing a second SecureCloud server component while there is already an existing database
  5. Complete the Application Server Configuration screen.

    This screen is to specify Web service configured in the Application Server role > web service setting.
    • Application server—host header, IP address, or FQDN
    • Web service port—port number
    • Use HTTPS—select if this type of protocol is implemented in your network.
  6. Specify the assistant server settings.

    This step only appears if you set assistant server configuration when executing the installation package from a command prompt.
    Verify that the default settings are correct, and modify them if necessary.

    • Web Service HTTP port—port that will access the web service.
    • Python Executable Directory—location of the Python executable file. Click Verify Modules to confirm that all required modules have been properly installed.
