The SNMP (system attribute monitoring) and SMTP (email)
protocol settings must be set before SecureCloud can issue Central
Management Console-based notifications.
Procedure
On the Central Management Console Administration > Notifications page,
click the Settings tab.
Specify all the necessary information for your SMTP
server.
Type the required values for the SMTP
Server (hostname or IP address), Port,
and Email sender address fields.
Specify the username and password if
the SMTP server requires authentication.
Specify your SNMP information.
Select Enable SNMP to
receive real-time, consolidated SecureCloud alerts through your
network management server.
Note
Deselecting the Enable SNMP check box does
not delete any information you may have typed in the SNMP server
and Community fields.
Type the IP address of the SNMP Server.
Provide the Community to which the devices and management stations
running SNMP belong or are grouped.
The SNMP Community string functions like a password for
network elements. This information is needed by SecureCloud to send
system monitoring information.
An SNMP device or agent may
belong to more than one SNMP community. The device or agent will
only respond to requests from management stations that belong to
its same community. Write = private and Read
= public are the SNMP default communities.
