Manually configure supported desktop browsers to reference the location of a PAC file.
  • Microsoft Edge 83 or later
  • Google Chrome 55 or later

Edge Configuration for Traffic Forwarding

Manually configure Microsoft Edge 83 or later to forward traffic to TMWS.

Procedure

  1. Click the More icon in the top-right corner of the browser.
  2. Go to SettingsSystem and performanceOpen your computer's proxy settings.
    The Automatic proxy setup window appears.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Turn on Use setup script, provide the file path of the PAC file in the Script address text box, and click Save.
      The path can be the location of the PAC file (in URL format) on the TMWS system. It can also be a local or network path if you downloaded the PAC file from the management console and saved it to your local computer or network.
      To view the URL of a PAC file or download a PAC file from the management console, go to AdministrationSERVICE DEPLOYMENTPAC Files.
    • Turn on Use a proxy server, provide the following address, and click Save:
      proxy.iws-hybrid.trendmicro.com:80
  4. Close the window.

Chrome Configuration for Traffic Forwarding

Manually configure Google Chrome 55 or later to forward traffic to TMWS.

Procedure

  1. Click the wrench icon located at the top-right section of the browser window.
  2. Go to SettingsShow advanced settings...Change proxy settings....
  3. Click LAN Settings.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Select Use automatic configuration script and provide the file path of the PAC file.
      The path can be the location of the PAC file (in URL format) on the TMWS system. It can also be a local or network path if you downloaded the PAC file from the management console and saved it to your local computer or network.
      To view the URL of a PAC file or download a PAC file from the management console, go to AdministrationSERVICE DEPLOYMENTPAC Files.
    • Select Use a proxy server for your LAN and provide the following address:
      proxy.iws-hybrid.trendmicro.com:80
  5. Click OK to close the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window.
  6. Click OK again to close Internet Properties.

Firefox Configuration for Traffic Forwarding

Manually configure Mozilla Firefox 50.0.1 or later to forward traffic to TMWS.

Procedure

  1. Click the Open menu icon in the top-right corner of the browser, and then select Options.
  2. Click the General tab, and under Network Proxy, click Settings.
    The Connection Settings window appears.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Select Manual proxy configuration and provide the following address:
      proxy.iws-hybrid.trendmicro.com:80

      To have TMWS scan HTTPS traffic, select Use this proxy server for all protocols.
    • Select Automatic proxy configuration URL and provide the file path of the proxy PAC file.
      The path can be the location of the PAC file (in URL format) on the TMWS system. It can also be a local or network path if you downloaded the PAC file from the management console and saved it to your local computer or network.
      To view the URL of a PAC file or download a PAC file from the management console, go to AdministrationSERVICE DEPLOYMENTPAC Files.
  4. Click OK to close the Connection Settings window, and then click OK again to close Options.

Safari Configuration for Traffic Forwarding

Manually configure Apple Safari 8 or later to forward traffic to TMWS.

Procedure

  1. Go to System Preferences Network.
  2. Choose the method that the computer uses to connect to the Internet and then click Advanced.
  3. Click the Proxies tab.
  4. Select Automatic Proxy Configuration and do one of the following:
    • In the Proxy Configuration File field, type proxy.iws-hybrid.trendmicro.com:80.
    • Click Choose File... and select the file path of the PAC file.
      The path can be the location of the PAC file (in URL format) on the TMWS system. It can also be a local or network path if you downloaded the PAC file from the management console and saved it to your local computer or network.
      To view the URL of a PAC file or download a PAC file from the management console, go to AdministrationSERVICE DEPLOYMENTPAC Files.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Apply.
