Service Management Programming Interface (SMPI) is a tool for MSP partners to manage a large amount of customers across domains.

The number of services listed in the SaaS portfolio for Tier 1 partners is growing. A lot of partners require integration with internal management consoles. SMPI serves as a Tier 1 partner tool that can provide data segmentation to protect confidential customer information while still protecting networks. Through the minimization of communication between partners and Trend Micro, you can help reduce your operational bandwidth usage.

SMPI provides rich API sets for service management including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Live status aggregation

  • Historical log querying

  • Policy management

  • Configuration enforcement

All SMPI communication requires the use of an associated API. Thus, users are able to query aggregated summary data and apply policies or product configurations to multiple customers and services in a consistent way. In addition, APIs can be used to construct a dashboard that shows the live status for all and/or part of a customer's environment, allowing real-time monitoring.

SMPI can also act as the exchange hub for services and consoles, wherein consoles and services do not have to be modified as long as they can fit into SMPI. SMPI has been designed to be flexible and extendable for new services and management consoles in order to meet the needs of MSPs.

The service URL of SMPI has been branched out from CSPI, and the functionality after SMPI v2.8 will not be supported by CSPI. For more information, please refer to Invoking SMPI.
