Procedure

  1. From the domain browser tree, select the domain to which you want to add a server. Do one of the following:
    • Select DomainInstall New SPNT(s) from the main menu.
    • Right-click the domain that you selected in the previous step and click Install New SPNT(s).
    The Select a Source Server window opens.
  2. Select an existing NetWare Normal Server from the list box, and then click OK. A confirmation window appears. Click OK to bring up the Add Server(s) to Domain window.
  3. Do one of the following to add a server to the domain:
    • Select the server name in the left list box
    • Type the server name in Server name.
    Click Add to enter the server name into the right list box.
  4. Repeat step 3 until the right list box displays all the servers that you want to add into the new domain. To remove a server previously added, highlight the name in the right list box and click Remove. Click Remove All to remove all those servers listed in the right list box.
  5. Click OK to save the changes or click Cancel to close the window without adding a server.

    If the operating system of the source and the target servers are of different platforms, then a "Failed to complete this operation" message will appear when you click OK. In the event log, the message "you cannot install a new ServerProtect from 32-bit source server to a 64-bit target server and vice versa" will appear.

    Adding and installing a Normal Server are two different types of operation. In the former, you are merely transferring an existing Normal Server from one Information Server to another. In the latter, you are registering a new Normal Server by remotely installing the software.
