ScanMail integrates with Deep Discovery Director to synchronize the consolidated suspicious object list from Deep Discovery Director for Security Risk Scan and Web Reputation scanning.

Procedure

  1. Click AdministrationDeep Discovery Director Settings.
    The Deep Discovery Director Settings screen displays.
  2. Under Deep Discovery Director Server Settings, specify the following:
    1. Type the IP address of the Deep Discovery Director server in the IP address field.
    2. Type the port number of the Deep Discovery Director server in the Port number field.
    3. Input the permission key.
      1. Generate and copy the permission key for ScanMail.
        In your Deep Discovery Director console, go to AdministrationAccount ManagementAccounts and create an account for ScanMail. Make sure you select Allow this account system access via web API.
        The permission key is displayed after you create the account.
      2. Go back to the ScanMail console, and paste the permission key in the Permission key field.
  3. Under Suspicious Objects, configure the following:
    1. Select Enable Suspicious Objects List if you want ScanMail to leverage the suspicious objects list from the Deep Discovery Director. ScanMail synchronizes the consolidated suspicious objects list (including the Virtual Analyzer and User-defined objects) to apply to Security Risk Scan and Web Reputation scanning.

      ScanMail synchronizes only suspicious URLs and file SHA-256 hash values from Deep Discovery Director.
    2. Select Enable Suspicious Objects Detection Notification to receive notifications about suspicious objects detections. The details of Security Risk Scan and Web Reputation detection notifications follow their notification settings.
