The Global Approved List overrides the email scanning for all filters in real-time
scan, manual scan, and scheduled scan.
Procedure
- Click . The Global Approved List screen appears.
- Enable the Global Approved List for all filters in real-time scan.
- Select one of the following:

From specific sender(s) to any recipient
-
From any sender to specific recipient(s).
-
From specific sender(s) to specific recipient(s).
-
- Click the specific sender(s) or specific recipient(s) link (if applicable).
- Select one of the following:
-
Anyone: Apply this policy to all users.
-
Specific accounts: Select from Active Directory groups or ScanMail special groups.
-
- Search and select AD Users/Groups/Contacts/Special
Groups and add them to the Selected Account(s) list.
Note
You can find AD Users/Groups/Contacts only after email addresses have been specified for them. - Search and select AD Users/Groups/Contacts/Special Groups and add them to the Selected Account(s) list on the Exclude Accounts screen.
- Click Save.The Global Approved List screen appears again.
- Select Use Global Approved List to bypass email scanning for all filters in real-time scan at the top of the screen.
- Select one of the following:
- Enable the Global Approved List for all filters in manual scan and scheduled
scan.
- Under Manual Scan and Scheduled Scan, select Use Global Approved List to bypass email scanning for all filters in manual scan and scheduled scan.
- Under Select Account, type a search string in the text box to find the available users or distribution groups and click Search.
- Select the mailboxes in the available list and click Add

Note
The maximum allowable number of email addresses to search is 500.You can import pre-existing lists from properly formatted.txt
files. When importing a file, ScanMail only adds addresses to the Selected Mailbox(es) list until the list contains 500 addresses.
- Enable the approved header field list.
- Enable the approved header field list.
- Specify a header field name and a value for the field, and select Contains or Equals as necessary.
- Click Add.The specified entry appears in the area below.When the specified header field of an email message contains or exactly matches with the specified value depending on whether Contains or Equals is selected, the message will not be scanned by ScanMail filters.
Note
Be aware that the header field name and value are case sensitive, and wildcard characters and regular expressions are not supported.The header field name and value cannot exceed 128 characters. - Optionally repeat steps b and
c to add another header field as
necessary.The email message whose header field hits any of the specified entries will not be scanned by ScanMail filters.
Note
A maximum of 10 header fields is supported. - To delete a specified header field, select it from the list and click Delete.
- Click Save.
