Viewing Event Logs

These logs are generated when certain actions are taken by the server and the mobile device.

To view event logs:

  1. Click Logs > Event Log. The Event Log screen displays.

  2. Specify the query criteria for the logs you want to view. The parameters are:

  3. Time period: select a predefined date range. If the period you require is not covered by the above options, select Range and specify a date range.

  4. From: type the date for the earliest log you want to view. Click the icon to select a date from the calendar.

  5. To: type the date for the latest log you want to view. Click the icon to select a date from the calendar.

  6. Sort by: choose the log sort order and grouping from the drop-down.

  1. Click Display Logs to begin the query.

The following messages are possible in the event logs:

Add device on console (causes a mobile device registration; also logged)

Delete device in console (causes a mobile device unregistration; not logged)

Administrator changes the device name or phone number

Administrator changes the domain of the device

Mobile Security Management Server receives a registration request from a mobile device

Mobile Security Management Server receives an unregistration request from a mobile device

The following errors are possible in the event logs:

Operation failed for general error. Please try the operation again.

-202

Device does not exist, it may have been removed by another session.

-203

Domain does not exist, it may have been removed by another session.

-204

The phone number has already been assigned to another device, please use a different phone number and try again.
