Use this screen, to select the machines Damage Cleanup Services will perform tasks on. Select machines by machine name or IP address. The default setting is by machine name. Before proceeding with machine selection, the login credentials for these machines should be added in the account management tool first. See Account Management Tool Tutorial.
This section will not display correctly, unless the browser's privacy level is set to Medium.
The Control Manager Web console makes it is easy to add and remove target machines during and after task creation. Unsupported clients are not included when selecting machines by machine name.
To add machines by machine name, complete the following steps:
Click By machine name. A message appears informing that current selections will be discarded. To proceed, click OK. To keep these selections, click Cancel, and then click Save. This step is only necessary if you previously selected By IP address or if you are editing an existing task.
Select a specific machine, and/or domain (all machines under the selected domain will be selected too) in the left hand tree. To select multiple machines and/or domains, push the shift and control keys while selecting. To view the machines which are part of a domain, click the desired domain.
Click Add> to add a machine or a domain. Alternatively, click Add All >> to add all machines and domains in the right hand tree. After adding the machines and domains they will appear in the right hand tree.
Click Save to save this setting and return to Create a Damage Cleanup Task.
To remove machines by machine name, complete the following steps:
Select a specific machine or a domain (all machines under the selected domain will be selected too) in the right hand tree. To select multiple machines and/or domains, push the shift and control keys while selecting. To view the machines which are part of a domain, click the domain.
Click <Remove to remove a machine or domain. Alternatively, click << Remove All to remove all visible machines and domains. After removing the machines or domains, they will appear in the right hand tree.
Click Save to save this setting and return to Create a Damage Cleanup Task. Otherwise, click Cancel to discard the changes made.
Damage Cleanup Services also allows to specify IP addresses and ranges of IP addresses to perform tasks on. It is easy to clear IP addresses and ranges during and after task creation.
To specify an IP address, complete the following steps:
Click By IP address. A message appears informing you that current selections will be discarded. To proceed, click OK. To keep these selections, click Cancel, and then click Save. This step may not be necessary when editing an existing task.
Type an IP address in IP address. Press Delete to modify a value or Tab to type the next value. Valid addresses follow the following format: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx For example: 192.168.1.12
Click > next to IP address: to add the IP address specified above. After adding an IP address, it will appear in the right hand box. An IP range conflict error message will appear if there is an existing IP address range in the right hand box. In such case, there is no need to add this IP address.
Click Save to save this setting. Otherwise, click Cancel to discard the changes made.
To specify a range of IP addresses, complete the following steps:
Type the first IP address in IP address from:. It is important that all target machines that are part of the specified range have the same login credentials. Press Delete to modify a value or Tab to type the next value. Valid addresses follow the following format: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx For example: 192.168.1.12
Type the value of the last octet in IP address to:. The last octet value of the first IP address should be inferior to that of the last IP address. The valid values are 1 through 255. Press the Delete button to modify a value.
Click > next to IP address from: and IP address to: to add the range specified above. After adding a range, the first and last IP addresses will appear in the right hand box.
To clear previously selected IP addresses and IP address ranges, complete the following steps:
Select one or more IP addresses and/or IP address ranges from the right hand box, and then click Clear Selected. To remove all, click Clear All; alternatively, select From IP ... To IP, and then click Clear Selected.
