Provisioning Devices Parent topic

Before you begin

Ensure that at least one device is prepared and available on the target machine.
This topic describes the three methods that administrators can use to provision devices. Choose the method that is appropriate.

Important
The Configuration Tool works on both Linux and Microsoft Windows platforms. The SecureCloud Encryption Wizard only works with Microsoft Windows platforms.

Configuration Tool - Provisioning Script Parent topic

Before you begin

Ensure that at least one device is prepared and available on the target machine.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the appropriate directory:
    • On Linux, type cd /var/lib/securecloud/
    • On Microsoft Windows, click Start and type cmd to open a command shell, then type cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\SecureCloud\Agent\
  2. Run the SecureCloud Agent provisioning script:
    • On Linux, type sh scprov.sh prov -d data -x <passphrase> -q
    • On Windows, type scprov prov -d data -x <passphrase> -q
    Tip
    Tip
    In the provisioning script, -d is followed by one of the following parameters: all, data, root, or <device list>. On Linux systems, parameters are case sensitive. If a device is partitioned and mounted as two drives, both drives must be included in the device list. For example: C,D
    The SecureCloud Agent uses the encryption key provided by the Key Management Server to encrypt the devices attached to this machine.

SecureCloud Encryption Wizard - Windows Only Parent topic

Before you begin

Ensure that at least one device is prepared and available on the target machine before you begin this process.

Procedure

  1. Click StartTrend Micro SecureCloud AgentSecureCloud Encryption Wizard.
  2. On the Provision tab, choose which devices to provision:
    • All devices
    • All data devices
    • Only root device
    • Choose devices
  3. Select Ignore SSL Error to ignore SSL certificate authentication errors.

    This option does not apply to companies that subscribe to the Trend Micro SecureCloud Hosted Service.
  4. Supply the provisioning pass phrase.
  5. Click Provision.

Before you begin

Ensure that at least one device is prepared and available on the target machine before you begin this process.

Procedure

  1. Display the Inventory screen.
  2. Use one of the following methods to encrypt devices:
    • From the Inventory screen:
      • Select the machine that has unencrypted devices and click Encrypt
      • In the Encrypting Device(s) dialog, select the devices for encryption and click Encrypt
    • From the Edit Computers screen:
      • Click the name of the machine that has unencrypted devices
      • In the Edit Computers screen, select the devices for encryption, and click Encrypt
    The SecureCloud Agent uses the encryption key provided by the Key Management Server to encrypt the devices attached to this machine.
