RAID Parent topic

SecureCloud supports software RAID for the RAID 0 level. Data storage devices in a RAID are added or removed from SecureCloud in your Cloud Service Provider (CSP) environment—except for RightScale, which does not allow RAID configuration. See your CSP documentation for details.
The following table describes the disk limitations when creating a dynamic disk in Windows. For additional information on RAID storage limits, see the posting at the following Microsoft location: http://technet.microsoft.com

Dynamic disk limitations in Windows

Storage Capability
Dynamic Disk
Volume size (maximum)
2TB for simple and mirrored volumes.Up to 64TB for Windows striped volumes. (2TB per disk with a maximum of 32 disks per volume.)
Supported RAID implementation
Hardware or software RAID.
Storage of boot and system volumes
Simple or mirrored volumes only.
Shared cluster storage in server clusters
Not supported.
Number of RAID devices
For Amazon EC2, Trend Micro recommends that a maximum of eight devices be grouped in a RAID. For the Windows Runtime Agent in a CSP environment, the maximum number of devices is 32.
