HTTP > URL Access Control > Global URL Blocking | Via Pattern File (Phish)
You can have IWSVA protect users against fraudulent Web sites, spyware, and other Internet threats. In addition, you can have IWSVA work in conjunction with Trend Micro's Damage Cleanup Service to automatically detect and clean spyware, as well as prevent access to known phish sites and disease vectors.
Enable URL blocking—Enable or disable URL blocking (click Save after enabling or disabling URL blocking).
Phishing—Prevents LAN users from accessing known phish sites.
Spyware—Blocks URLs known to be part of a spyware scheme, either as an outlet for it, or a so-called spyware "accomplice" that could be designed to receive data uploads from spyware already planted. MORE>>
Note that this option is different than the Spyware scanning option that is available on the Spyware/Grayware Scan Rule page. That spyware scanning checks HTTP and FTP traffic for known spyware programs, and can prevent users within the LAN from downloading them.
Virus accomplice—Protects against secret URL seeking from "dropped" files that might be part of a Trojan or worm exploitation.
Disease vector—Prevents LAN users from accessing Web sites known to intentionally carry several viruses, Trojans, spyware, and other Internet threats.
Note: Trend Micro recommends that you schedule automatic updates of the PhishTrap pattern file (click Updates > Schedule in the IWSVA menu). To immediately update the file, click the Summary page, select PhishTrap signature database, and then click Update.
We encourage you to help fight the growing problem of phish fraud by sending Trend Micro suspected phish messages and the URLs they are tempting people to visit.
Phish URL—Copy the hyperlink or URL from the phish message to this field.
Phish categories—Tell us how you think the item should be categorized: phish, spyware, virus accomplice, disease vector, and so on.
Sender's email address—Include your email address.
