IWSVA supports the following LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) vendors:
Microsoft Active Directory for Windows Servers 2003 and 2008
Linux OpenLDAP 2.3.39
Sun Java System Directory Server 5.2 (formerly Sun™ ONE Directory Server)
If you have an LDAP server, it is very convenient to create user- or group-specific policies with IWSVA. Event logs, reports, and notifications will use your LDAP hierarchies for user identification.
To configure IWSVA to work with your LDAP server, you need to complete the following tasks:
Specify your LDAP vendor.
Tell IWSVA your current LDAP attributes.
Identify the location of your LDAP server.
Identify the authentication model your LDAP server uses.
(Optional) Enable Referral Chasing.
(Optional) Configure Transparent Identification.
Note: If you are unsure about any of the previously mentioned details, you will need to get the information from your network LDAP administrator to configure IWSVA.
