Installation ======================================================================== This section explains key steps for installing the software. Refer to the "Online Help" for detailed information. If you want to migrate from ServerProtect 5.58 and 5.7, refer to "Getting Started Guide" for detailed information. 5.1 Installing ServerProtect for Microsoft Windows Server and Novell NetWare 5.8 from CD-ROM ===================================================================== To install this release on Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019/2022, double-click "SPNT58.exe" and follow the on-screen instructions. After installing ServerProtect for Microsoft Windows Server and Novell NetWare 5.8 on a 32-bit platform, the program files will be created by default under the ":\Program Files\Trend\" folder. You can also specify another installation path. The registry key will be created under the "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\TrendMicro" folder. After installing ServerProtect for Microsoft Windows Server and Novell NetWare 5.8 on a 64-bit platform, the program files will be created by default under the ":\Program Files\Trend\" folder. You can also specify another installation path. The registry key will be created under the "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\TrendMicro" and the "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro" folders. Note: The TMI component installation path is: "\Program Files (x86)\Trend\Common\TMI" 5.2 Installing ServerProtect for Microsoft Windows Server and Novell NetWare 5.8 in Silent Mode ===================================================================== Use silent mode if you want to install Windows Server 2008/2012/ 2016/2019/2022 Normal Servers. To install ServerProtect 5.8 in silent mode: 1. Install an Information Server. 2. Locate the "SMS" folder and share it. Make sure that the folder can be accessed by the servers in which you want to install Normal Servers. If you want to perform more than one silent installation, map the "SMS" folder on the target servers. 3. On each target server, open a command prompt and go to the "SMS" folder or drive that is mapped to the folder; then, run the following command: setup -SMS -s -m"SPNT5" Silent install will proceed and the target server will be registered to the Information Server. For silent installation, Normal Servers are installed in the "SMS" domain. The "SMS" domain is hard coded so there is no way to change the domain during the silent installation in "SMS". An alternative method to change the "SMS" domain is to first install all Normal Servers and then rename the "SMS" domain. To specify an installation path for ServerProtect, open the "SETUP.INI" file in the source folder, add the following key under the "CommonSection" section and specify an appropriate value: [CommonSection] ServerTargetLocalPath=(preferred Normal Server installation path) To license the installed Normal Server, add the following key under the "CommonSection" section of the "SETUP.INI" file in the source folder and specify an appropriate value: [CommonSection] ServerTargetSN=(Normal Server legal serial number in the "XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX" format) 5.3 Removing ServerProtect for Microsoft Windows Server and Novell NetWare 5.8 After the Trial Period ===================================================================== Please refer to the "Online Help" for information on the specific steps to remove ServerProtect. 6. Post-installation Configuration ======================================================================== Please refer to the "Online Help" for post-installation configuration information. Known Issues ======================================================================== The following are the known issues in this release: 7.1 Restoring the Information Server always returns a successful result. ===================================================================== When you use the restore Information Server function, you will be prompted to provide the administrator's username and password to restore the connection. The final result of this task will always be "successful" even when some servers were unsuccessful in restoring the connection. 7.2 Messenger notification does not work on Windows 2008. ===================================================================== The message box notification does not work on a Windows 2008 server because Windows 2008 does not support the messenger service. 7.3 Normal Server icons cannot be displayed on a remote desktop session. ===================================================================== If you use a remote desktop connection, the Normal Server's icon will not be displayed in the system tray. 7.4 The "ExcludeUNCPath" setting does not work in certain environments. ===================================================================== The function may not work when UAC (User Access Control) is enabled in Windows 2008 and the "ExcludeUNCPath" is set to "1" in the "Admin.ini" file. 7.5 The icons for ServerProtect 5.7 64-bit are incorrect. ===================================================================== The ServerProtect 5.7 64-bit Normal Server displays 32-bit icons in the domain tree. The correct icons will be displayed after a successful upgrade to version 5.8. 7.6 The virus submission function does not work in Novell NetWare. ===================================================================== This functionality is unavailable for ServerProtect for Novell NetWare. 7.7 Virus number statistics value in Scan Now is incorrect. ===================================================================== During a Scan Now task, detected viruses found near the end of the scan may not be report to the On-Demand Scanning Monitor of Windows. However, the virus log and Scan Now log will record this information correctly. 7.8 Empty domains are not displayed in Control Manager. ===================================================================== Empty domain information is not updated on the Control Manager server, and therefore will not be displayed. 7.9 Only servers in the Primary NIC are displayed. ===================================================================== When there are multiple NICs connected, only the primary NIC computers are displayed on the Information Server list or Normal Server list. 7.10 The only Information Servers for certain platforms are allowed to manage ServerProtect for Novell NetWare. ===================================================================== Only Windows 2003 32-bit server is supported to run the Information Server to manage the NetWare Normal Server. This is occurs of the lack of Novell NetWare support in other Windows platforms, which include Windows 2003 64-bit servers and Windows 2008 servers. 7.11 The Management Console is not upgraded for remote installation. ===================================================================== When using the installation package to remotely install the Normal Server, the Management Console will not be upgraded. 7.12 The Management Console and Information Server are deployed at the same time while a program is being deployed. ===================================================================== When using the deployment program to upgrade old Normal Servers, Management Console files and the Information Server will be deployed simultaneously. 7.13 The Virus Scan Engine will be replaced with the version from the installation package. ===================================================================== After upgrading the old Normal Server, the Virus Scan Engine version will be replaced with the version contained in the installation package. 7.14 Users cannot add non-existing files to the exclusion file list of ServerProtect for Novell NetWare. ===================================================================== ServerProtect for Novell NetWare displays an error message that it failed to add non-existing file names to the exclusion file list. 7.15 Control Manager does not display all information for ServerProtect for Novell NetWare. ===================================================================== Control Manager does not display operating system information, domain name, and IP addresses for Normal Server from a Novell NetWare platform. 7.16 The move ServerProtect for Novell NetWare function does not work in IPX protocol. ===================================================================== When moving ServerProtect for Novell NetWare to another Information Server in IPX protocol, information may not display and must be added manually. 7.17 A particular ServerProtect management console version cannot be used to manage a different Information Server version. ===================================================================== The version used for the Management Console must always be the same version used for the Information Server. 7.18 Commands fail when the Information Server and Normal Server use a different languages. ===================================================================== If the Normal Server and the Information Server use different languages, commands cannot be deployed from the Management Console. 7.19 Old logs are sent to Control Manager after the CMAgent is installed. ===================================================================== After the CMAgent is installed, ServerProtect sends all pre-existing logs to the Control Manager server. This may generate additional network traffic. To avoid redundancy, purge all logs from the Management Console before installing CMAgent. 7.20 The Control Manager console only displays the CMAgent language. ===================================================================== If the installed Information Server and CMAgent use different languages, the Control Manager console will display the CMAgent language in the product language field under status information. 7.21 Network drives do not appear in Windows Terminal Services. ===================================================================== Sometimes when Windows Terminal Services is running on a scan server or a Normal server, you might not be able to view mapped drives or directories in the "Add Drives and/or Directories" dialog box ("Scan Now > Selected drives/directories > Browse"). If this occurs, disable the Windows Terminal Services running on the scan server or Normal Server. 7.22 Remote upgrades run from a 32-bit machine will be unsuccessful if the Normal Server is a 64-bit machine. ===================================================================== To upgrade the ServerProtect 5.7 Normal Server to version 5.8 on a 64-bit machine, perform either a local installation, silent installation, or program deployment. 8.
