Custom Autoscale

Scale your Private Access Connector VM instances based on metric thresholds by creating a custom autoscale policy.

1. In the left navigation, click Scaling.
2. On the Configure tab of the Scaling screen that appears, select Custom autoscale.
3. In the Custom autoscale configuration area, set Scale mode to Scale based on a metric.
4. Add a "Scale out" rule to increase the instance count by clicking Add a rule and specifying the following fields.

   Field		Setting
   	Metric source	Current resource
   Criteria	Metric namespace	Virtual Machine Host
   	Metric name	Percentage CPU
   	Dimension Name	VMNAME "= All values"
   	Enable metric divide by instance count	Do not toggle on.
   	Operator	Greater than
   	Metric threshold to trigger scale action	80 (suggested) for 2 virtual CPUs 70 (suggested) for 4 virtual CPUs
   	Duration	5
   	Time grain statistic	Average
   	Time aggregation	Average
   Action	Operation	Increase count by
   	Cool down	10
   	Instance count	1

   (Optional) To modify an existing metric trigger rule, click the metric threshold part of the rule, update the desired fields, and then click Update.

5. Click Add.
6. Add a "Scale in" rule to decrease the instance count by clicking Add a rule and specifying the following fields.

   Field		Setting
   	Metric source	Current resource
   Criteria	Metric namespace	Virtual Machine Host
   	Metric name	Percentage CPU
   	Dimension Name	VMNAME "= All values"
   	Enable metric divide by instance count	Do not toggle on.
   	Operator	Less than
   	Metric threshold to trigger scale action	15 (suggested) for 2 virtual CPUs 10 (suggested) for 4 virtual CPUs
   	Duration	10
   	Time grain statistic	Average
   	Time aggregation	Average
   Action	Operation	Decrease count by
   	Cool down	20
   	Instance count	1

   (Optional) To modify an existing metric trigger rule, click the metric threshold part of the rule, update the desired fields, and then click Update.

7. Click Add.
8. Click Save.
