Using the Network Inventory Service

Connect and configure network sensors using the Network Inventory Service.

Connect an already deployed product as a network sensor, or deploy and connect a new product as a network sensor.

To access Network Analytics reports from the Workbench app, additional configuration is required.

Connect network sensors to a Service Gateway to use the Service Gateway as source for additional services.

The following table outlines the actions and information available in the Network Inventory app.

Action or information

Description

View license information

Connected network sensors consume Network Analytics bandwidth. Network sensors are automatically enabled as Network Analytics sources if bandwidth is available.

Your license determines available bandwidth.

Click License information to view your license information.

Connect a network sensor

Click Connect Network Sensor to connect a network sensor.

Connect to or disconnect from a Service Gateway

Select one or more network sensors and click Connect Service Gateway or Disconnect Service Gateway to connect or disconnect the selected network sensors to or from a Service Gateway.

   

View the network sensor status

View the table to check the status of connected network sensors.

Access the network sensor console

Click Access console to open the network sensor's console and configure the product.

Important:

You can only access appliances that are part of your corporate network or that you can reach directly. Connect to the appliance's network before continuing.

Disconnect a network sensor

Connected network sensors consume Network Analytics bandwidth. Disconnecting a network sensor frees up Network Analytics bandwidth.

Click Disconnect to disconnect a network sensor.

Note:

Network sensors are automatically enabled as Network Analytics sources if bandwidth is available.

Access the Deep Discovery Director console

Click the access console button (), and then select Access Deep Discovery Director console to open the Deep Discovery Director console and configure the product.

Important:

You can only access appliances that are part of your corporate network or that you can reach directly. Connect to the appliance's network before continuing.

View the IdP certificate information

The Network Inventory app uses an internal IdP to enable single sign-on to Deep Discovery Director.

Click the options button (), and then select IdP Certificate Information to view the certificate information.

Reset the Network Inventory app

The Network Inventory app can be reset if you want to connect your network sensors using an on-premises Deep Discovery Director.

Click the options button (), select Reset Network Inventory, and then confirm by clicking Reset.

Important:

Resetting the Network Inventory disconnects all network sensors from Trend Micro Vision One. Data that has already been sent is not affected.
