Upon successful installation, an on-premises gateway can work properly only after it is registered to the TMWS management console, where you can manage the gateway and distribute configured policies to it.
The Add On-Premises Gateway window appears.

Select how you want to register the on-premises gateway when it has the same display name as an existing on-premises gateway. Options include:
This is a convenient way of reusing the existing policies and settings of an existing on-premises gateway in some special cases. For example, when the old VM where an on-premises gateway is installed becomes corrupted, or when an upgrade to a newer main version of an on-premises gateway is required. By default, it is set to Do not allow duplicate. Note:
When selecting Replace the existing on-premises gateway, make sure that the old VM is already stopped or powered off. |
