Configuring Proxy Settings

If the Apex One (Mac) administrator grants you the privileges, you can configure the Security Agent to connect to its parent server through a proxy server.

The Security Agent connects to its parent server to update components and report its status. If the Security Agent cannot connect to its parent server, it connects to the ActiveUpdate server to update components. Internet connection is required to connect to the ActiveUpdate server.

  1. Click the Security Agent icon in the system tray.
  2. Click the settings icon () and select Proxy Settings.
  3. Complete the following steps to unlock the administrative privileges:
    1. Click the lock icon ().
    2. Enter the administrator user name and password.
    3. Click OK.
  4. Select an option for proxy configuration.

    If you select Manual configuration, do the following:

    1. Select a proxy protocol.

    2. Type the name or IP address of the proxy server.

    3. Type the port number of the proxy server.

    4. If the proxy server requires authentication, type the autherntication user name and password.

  5. Click OK.
