Installing the Edge Relay Server

Before installing the Edge Relay Server, ensure that the target server computer meets the minimum system requirements.

Important:

The Edge Relay Server does not support IPv6 communication.

  1. Locate the <Server installation folder>\PCCSRV\Admin\Utility\EdgeServer folder on the OfficeScan server computer, and copy the folder to the target Edge Relay Server computer.
  2. On the target Edge Relay Server, open the EdgeServer folder and execute the setup.exe file to start the installation process.

    The setup package checks the server for required components.

  3. If any of the following components do not exist on the server, click Install to allow the setup program to install the missing components during the Edge Relay Server installation process.
    • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 Full

    • Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package (x64)

    • Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types 10.00.2531 (x64)

    • SQL Server Transact-SQL ScriptDom (x64)

    • Microsoft SQL Server Data-Tier Application Framework (x64)

    The Welcome screen appears.

  4. Click Next.

    The Installation Path screen appears.

  5. Accept the default installation directory or click Change... to select a different location.
  6. Click Next >.

    The Edge Relay Server - OfficeScan Agent Connection screen appears.

  7. Specify the following settings that off-premises OfficeScan agents use to connect to the Edge Relay server:
    • Fully qualified domain name (FQDN): Type the FQDN of the Edge Relay server

    • IP address: Select the IP address format

      Important:

      The Edge Relay Server does not support IPv6 communication.

    • Port: Accept the default port or specify a port

      Important:

      You must configure your firewall and gateway to allow:

      • Redirection of the OfficeScan agent communication from the Internet to the Edge Relay server

      • Communication through the port specified

  8. Click Next >.

    The Edge Relay Server - OfficeScan Server Connection screen appears.

  9. Specify the following settings that the OfficeScan server uses to connect to the Edge Relay Server:
    • IP address: Select the IP address format

      Important:

      The Edge Relay Server does not support IPv6 communication.

    • Port: Accept the default port or specify a port

      Important:
      • The port for the OfficeScan server cannot be the same as the port configured for off-premises OfficeScan agents.

      • Ensure that your firewall allows communication through the port specified.

  10. Click Next >.

    The SSL Certificate screen appears.

  11. Specify and confirm the password used for the Edge Relay Server certificate.
  12. Click Next >.

    The Database Server screen appears.

  13. Specify the SQL Server database used by the Edge Relay Server:
    • Install a new SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 Express instance

    • Use an existing SQL database server: Click Browse... to select from the available servers in the list.

  14. Specify the password used to connect to the SQL Server database. If you are installing a new SQL Server Express database, confirm the password.
  15. Click Next >.

    The Installation Information screen appears.

  16. Click Next > to begin the installation.

    After the installation completes, the InstallShield Wizard Complete screen appears.

  17. Click Finish.

    The Edge Relay Server is ready for use. You can configure the OfficeScan server to connect with the Edge Relay Server.
