Enhanced Encryption of Server-Agent Communication

OfficeScan provides enhanced encryption of communication between the server and agents using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256 to meet governmental compliance standards.

Important:

OfficeScan only supports AES-256 encryption on servers and agents running OfficeScan 11.0 SP1 or later versions and Plug-in Manager 2.2 or later versions.

Warning:

Ensure that you upgrade all OfficeScan agents that the server manages to version 11.0 SP1 before enabling AES-256 encryption. Older OfficeScan agent versions may be unable to decrypt the AES-256 encrypted communication. Enabling AES-256 encryption on older OfficeScan agent versions may result in a complete loss of communication with the OfficeScan server when using a proxy server.

  1. Go to Agents > Global Agent Settings.
  2. Click the Network tab.
  3. Go to the Server-Agent Communication section.
  4. Click the Change button beside AES-256 encryption for communication between the OfficeScan server and OfficeScan agents.

    A message appears.

  5. Click Verify Versions to confirm that you have updated all agents to OfficeScan 11.0 SP1 or later.
  6. Click OK.
