About Account Roles

Roles determine the web console screens and settings accessible to accounts.

Table 1. Web Account Roles and Functions



Administrator "root"

The administrator account created during server installation appears under Account Name as root.

  • View all screens

  • Configure all settings


  • View all screens

  • Configure all settings except:

    • Lock and unlock rules

      See Add or Edit Rule Screen.

    • Editing and deleting other Administrator accounts


      The Administrator role can configure and delete all Guest user accounts and can edit its own account settings.


  • View and configure the following screens:

    • Dashboard

    • Administration > Web Console Accounts

      Only the guest user's account appears in the list.

  • View the following screens:

    • Management > Users and Endpoints

    • Logs > Query

    • Help

  • Edit current account profile.
