Configuring Blocking Methods

Important:

Blocking methods can be changed only if the applied policy exclusively matches endpoints or SYSTEM user accounts. If a policy matches users other than SYSTEM user accounts, changes to the setting are ignored and the blocking method for endpoints will be the last method used before users were matched.

To change the blocking method, do the following:

  1. Go to the Add or Edit Policy screen.

    See Policies Screen.

  2. Under Users and Endpoints, confirm that no users other than SYSTEM user accounts are matched.
  3. Expand Rules.
  4. Specify your blocking method using one of the following options:
    Option Description

    Specify kernel-level blocking

    Clear Use the more compatible, less feature-rich, user-level blocking method.

    Specify user-level blocking

    Select Use the more compatible, less feature-rich, user-level blocking method.
  5. Click Save to confirm your changes.
