To back up your server and agent data, copy the settings from their location on the server to a backup location. By default, all settings, logs, agent data, and volatile cached information is located in the server application installation folder. All SSL certificates used by Endpoint Application Control are also located in this folder.
Agent data on the server endpoint is the latest version cached by the server. To ensure an optimal backup, verify that agent connections are up-to-date. See Backing up Agents.
For example, stop the following services:
Trend Micro Endpoint Application Control Server Service
Trend Micro Endpoint Application Control UI Service
This service only runs if the Endpoint Application Control server uses the Apache Tomcat web server. See Web Server Considerations.
If you do not stop services, your data may change during the back up procedure. Even if you use software that can back up data from open files and live data sources, your backup may not represent a single moment, and your database may be corrupted. If you choose to perform a "hot" backup, first verify that your backup software explicitly supports creating a snapshot of the file system and can overcome these risks.
For example, on a default installation, copy C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\Endpoint Application Control\AcServer-Data.
It is not possible to back up settings from the Dashboard screen. Take extra steps to record your widgets and their settings so you can rebuild the Dashboard manually.
For example, on a default installation, copy C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\Endpoint Application Control\SSLCerts.
For example, start the following services:
Trend Micro Endpoint Application Control Server Service
Trend Micro Endpoint Application Control UI Service
Run this service only if your Endpoint Application Control server uses the Apache Tomcat web server. See Web Server Considerations.
