Protect Against Security Threats on the Internet - Part II
You have several different ways to make Trend Micro Titanium start or stop detecting unsafe websites.
To start or stop your protection against web threats:
Trend Micro maintains a database of websites with a poor reputation, ranked according to risk. These sites have a history of transmitting malicious software or supporting online fraud.
Trend Micro Titanium can block untrustworthy sites that appear in this database. Exactly how many sites it will block depends on whether you have set the Web Threat Protection slider to Low, Normal or High. Additionally, Trend Micro Titanium can display link ratings, so you will know if a link is safe before you click it.
Trend Micro Titanium can block websites in selected categories. You can use this feature to prevent kids from opening websites inappropriate for children.
Open a web browser and go to http://cnhacker.com. A warning will block the website and announce that it poses a security risk.
Although recognized as a threat, this website actually poses no risk, so you can use it safely for testing purposes.
Stop clicking links in email messages. Rather than clicking a link sent to you, type the website address into your web browser yourself.
Beware of poorly-worded email messages that implore you to check a commercial or financial account online.
