Network_Interface_Settings
The Network Interface Settings screen allows you to manage the product’s IP address and network interface ports.
Threat Discovery Appliance requires its own IP address to ensure that the management port can access the product console. If there is a DHCP server on your network and you want it to dynamically assign an IP address to Threat Discovery Appliance, select Dynamic IP address (DHCP). Otherwise, select static IP address.
Threat Discovery Appliance uses a management port and several data ports. You can view the status of these ports, change the network speed/duplex mode for each of the data ports, and capture packets for debugging and troubleshooting purposes.
The network speed/duplex mode for the management port can only be configured from the Preconfiguration Console. For details, see Preconfiguration Menu: Interface Settings.
To configure a dynamic IP address:
Administration > Network Interface Settings > Appliance IP Address Settings
In Appliance Host Name, specify the host name.
Select Dynamic IP Address (DHCP).
Click Save.
To configure a static IP address:
Administration > Network Interface Settings > Appliance IP Address Settings
In Appliance Host Name, specify the host name.
Select Static IP address.
Type the following:
IP address: The numeric address specifically for Threat Discovery Appliance
Subnet Mask: Indicates the subnet mask for the network to which the Threat Discovery Appliance IP address belongs
(Optional) Gateway: The IP address of the network gateway
(Optional) DNS Server 1: The IP address of the primary server that resolves host names to an IP address
(Optional) DNS Server 2: The IP address of the secondary server that resolves host names to an IP address
Click Save.
To manage network interface ports:
Administration > Network Interface Settings > Network Interface Ports
View the status for each port.
To change the port’s network speed and duplex mode, select from the options under Connection Type.
Select Check VLAN tags if VLAN tags are used to differentiate TCP connections.
To capture packets on each port, click Start under Packet Capture. The date/time of the packet capture session displays next to the button. The total amount of packets captured dynamically displays on the lower section of the screen.
It is not possible to run multiple capture sessions. Wait for a session to finish before starting a new one.
Click Stop if the packet capture session is done.
The maximum size of the file containing packet data is 30MB.
To view data for the particular packet capture session, click View.
To export the data to a log file, click Export and then specify the target location of the log file tcpdump.tgz.
Send the log file to Trend Micro if you need troubleshooting assistance.
To remove files containing packet data, click Reset.
