Configuring Connection Settings

Use the Connection Settings screen to configure the following connection types for the Mobile Security system:

To configure 3G/GPRS connection settings:

  1. Click Administration > Connection Settings from the Mobile Security management screen.

  2. In the DNS name/IP address field, type the proxy or Mobile Security Management server you installed Mobile Security Communication Manager.

  3. Specify the protocol and port number for 3G/GPRS connections.

  4. By default, Mobile Security uses HTTP at port 80 for 3G/GPRS connections. If you want to use a different HTTP service port, type the port number in the field next to HTTP.

  5. To use the connection type with enhanced security, select HTTPS and specify the service port number in the field provided (for example, 443).

  1. Click Save to save the changes.

To configure MSCM server connection settings:

  1. Click Administration > Connection Settings from the Mobile Security management screen.

  2. Select "Configure the MSCM server settings" to enable the Mobile Security Management Module to communicate with the MSCM server.

  3. Type the name or IP address of the MSCM server in the Server Name/IP Address field.

  4. Type the service port of the MSCM server.

  1. Click Save to save the changes.

  2. If a firewall is installed between the MSCM server and the Mobile Security Management server, a host computer for an SMS sender, or a proxy server, you need to configure firewall policies to allow traffic to the specified MSCM server port.
