The Master Server controls and monitors the SMS senders connected to the Master Server. SMS senders notify mobile devices to:
download the Mobile Device Agent setup file
install Mobile Device Agent
register to or unregister
update Mobile Security components
synchronize security policy settings
remote locate the mobile device
remote lock the mobile device
remote wipe the mobile device
If you do not configure the phone number of an SMS sender in the SMS sender list, the Master Server prevents the SMS sender from sending messages to Mobile Security mobile devices.
The SMS Sender List screen displays the following information:
Phone Number: displays the phone number of an SMS sender for SMS messaging.
Status: displays connected if the SMS sender with the corresponding phone number is connected to the Master Server, and disconnected if otherwise.
If the SMS sender is connected to the Master Server, but is unable to send SMS messages, check that the phone bill is paid.
