Device Management > Domain Policies > Data Security > Firewall Policy
Configure firewall policies to prevent unwanted network connections initialized from an external device or programs running on a mobile device.
Mobile Security provides two filtering methods for the firewall feature:
Predefined firewall security levels: enable you to select one of the pre-set security levels to quickly configure the firewall policies.
Customizable exceptions: you can configure exceptions to block or allow specified traffic on the mobile devices. Exceptions have priority over predefined firewall security levels.
In the Device Management screen, click Domain Policies > Data Security > Firewall Policy.
Under Firewall Policy, select how Mobile Security is to treat network traffic on mobile devices.
Enable firewall
Enable Intrusion Detection System (IDS)
An intrusion detection system (IDS) is built into the Mobile Security firewall feature to block attempts from external sources from continuously sending requests to the mobile devices. Such attempts may constitute a denial of service (DoS) attack and can render the targeted mobile devices too busy to accept other connections.
High: blocks all inbound and outbound traffic.
Normal: enables all outbound traffic but blocks all inbound traffic.
Low: enables all inbound and outbound traffic.
For the root domain, select Apply changes to all domains after clicking 'Save'. This action copies policies to all sub-domains.
For the sub-domain, select Send notification messages to mobile devices after clicking 'Save'. This action sends an SMS notification to Mobile Device Agents about the configuration changes.
