Resetting Password for a Windows Mobile Device Parent topic

To reset password for a Windows Mobile device, you will need to request user to generate a challenge code (16-digit hexadecimal number) on the mobile device before you can unlock the mobile device remotely.

Procedure

  1. Obtain the mobile device name and the challenge code the user generated on the mobile device. Refer users to the Mobile Device Agent Help or the User’s Guide for instructions on challenge code generation.
  2. Click Devices on the menu bar.
    The Devices screen displays.
  3. On the Managed Devices tab, click the mobile device from the device tree whose password you want to reset.
  4. Click Password Reset and then click Select a device in the Remote Unlock screen. The device tree displays.
  5. Select the mobile device you want to unlock remotely, and click Select.
  6. Type the challenge code in the field and click Generate.
  7. The Mobile Security server generates the response code and displays the code on a pop-up screen.
  8. Instruct the user to tap Next in the Password screen on the mobile Device and type the response code to unlock the mobile device.
